Don't know if you still remember the movie recommendations I've made for the year 2008 in an earlier post. They're all english films I realised. This post was meant to be posted after that but somehow I forgotten about it totally. It's all about the Asia Drama and Movies which I thought should not be missed in 2008.

If you always have been a supporter of detective genres or loved the Japanese drama series, Kindaichi, this drama will suit you. It is from the same director of Bump Off Lover by Angela Zhang in 2006. The suspense in the air of the MIT drama is captivating. There is a the main plot of mystery plus the mini cases to be solved in every episode . Though storyline wise, I prefer Bump Off Lover.



Iijimae by Lee Jun Kee is one of the few Korean drama I've watched and loved. The storyline about the famous theft who rob for the poor is well written. The acting skills of the main character Lee Jun Ki and every supporting characters like the female leads, the older actors and actresses and the minor roles were all fantastic. If you're into K-drama, this is a must-not-be-missed in 2008.


Moonlight Resonance, the sequel to Heart of Greed, was mentioned before my cousin in her blog. But I'll like to emphasise the greatness of this drama. This is the one Hongkong drama which made me cry like 3 or 4 times. The story is very well knitted. The acting of the actors and actresses, both old and young, did a marvellous job! You really could feel that they are one family. The sequel definitely precedes the prequel a lot, so it's a MUST (x3) watch! I guarantee plus chop that you'll not regret. Hope there is a third one of series!



Mandarin movie industry is not performing well these years. A good movie like Connected is really rare. It is a remake of a Hollywood thriller movie in 2004 called Cellular and it is argued that this mandarin version overrules the orginal one! I really enjoyed the movie throughout.

So far so good for Korean, Hongkong and Taiwan's products, we can't forget Japanese ones right? Sweet Rain 死神の精度 is one J-movie that you'll not forgive yourself for missing it if you're a J-lover. Putting aside that Takeshi Kaneshiro is damn gorgeous, the movie is brillant and thought provoking. It leaves you pondering about the values of life and death. I thought it was truly wonderful.

I'm looking forth to more wonderful movies and dramas from the mandarin industry for 2009!

PS: I didn't put Ip Man in 'coz it's simply not my type though I heard it was not bad.
