Movies like Wall.E and The Fountain are meant to be thought provoking. Wall.E teaches all human beings to be warned of the consequences of continuing to destroy our natural environment. It makes you rethink about how a little effort you makke can save the Earth and vice versa, how a little extra litter you throw would add on to the burden of the Earth. The Fountain simulates rethinking of your life. It's all about the spirtual and emotions about life and I think it's important to ponder on that to continue on a smoother life journey.
I don't mind going to a movie which is adopted from a best selling book before reading the book itself. Even if the story plot is different from the original plot in the book. Because you'll be enjoying a brand new plot when you pick up the book and read it. That's double enjoyment. So why not?
In the case whereby I've read the book then go for the movie, I think it'll be great to fill in the details the movie left out from the book. Firstly it stimulates thinking and memory skills. Secondly, watching a movie which is adopted from the story I've read sort of make the imagination come alive though it may not be exactly the same. Which I think is awesome about motion pictures. So don't complain about the movie being hasty and don't follow the original plot. Come on, just sit through and enjoy it.

The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and (going to read) Twilight are movies which I had interest in reading after the movies. This is good coz Singaporeans don't read as much books as say the Americans. Hence, somehow, it helps me to pick up a good hobby.

However, I must say, like most ppl, I didn't like The Da Vinci Code, written by Dan Brown, that was made into a movie. Coz I felt that Tom Hanks, as the main character Robert Langdon in the film, was like totally off the description in the book which was a put off for me. In the book, Robert is a lean, physically fit and handsome man in his forties who was definitely not balding. He supposed to look young despite the grey hair.Tom Hanks definitely didn't fit the description in terms of built but I must say he did portray the soul of Robert Langdon well. So after all, I thought the movie was still great.

Tonight, I went to Twilight with Justina, and thought the movie was really very enjoyable. Fortunately we managed to catch the last day of its screening. Even for someone had read the book said that the part where Bella interogates Edward about him being a vampire was better in the movie, despite that the movie is quite different from the storyline in the book. So I just have to say that indeed, just take it as you're enjoying 2 versions of the story. For those who missed it, do catch it on DVD!
