Yay, 1st and foremost, my dissertation is finally over! All I got to do now is hope for the best results. I feel relieved of a huge burden but mentally it seems that I still can't relaxed totally. Maybe I feel the sudden loss, like I would not have to do dissertation ever again. Anyway, back to the real topic of my entry...

I always hate fairs, be it travel fair, NUS/NTU fairs, PC/IT fairs or career fairs. Sometimes you've got no choice but to go coz they usually offer the best prices in town if the fairs are about selling products. If it's those about information and I hope to go there to get an idea of anything, I'll exit the exhibition venue with a more confused mind.
That was what happen for the NUS career fair 2009 which I just attended last thursday.
You really need to have something in mind before going to career fairs. The amount of information they slap onto your faces will be so overwhelming that you can feel the information rebouncing back to them. Your brain totally rejects the information when you try to keep your options open.
Then, you can't visit the fair alone because the people at the fairs tend to explain things to those in groups. They ignore the lost sheep. Luckily I've got Zhiming and Weiyang for accompany.
The talks given during the NUS career fairs are quite useless to a large extent and they cheated my feelings using the title. "Media and entertainment industry" sounds like the jobs in Mediacorp but it's all about gaming. Dotz la, they should name it "Gaming Media Industry" or something. Wasted my 15min there though I left halfway.
The fair was quite useless other than the freebies distributed. The above are some of the good freebies. Haha, I'm kidding about the freebies part, the fair did drill in something into me.
A few companies caught my eye a bit. CRA - Casino Regulatory Authority, DSTA - Defence Science and Technology Agency, CAAS - Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Ministry of Trade and Industry...
I'm still feeling confused with the job I want to do eventually. Can't I be lucky and get the job I enjoy doing in the first try?
